Session 4 Location: Cowles Mountain

The Cowles Mountain hike brings you to the highest point in the city of San Diego at 1,593ft, with views from Mexico to Orange County. Cowles Mountain is also one of the most popular hikes in San Diego, so we are going to hike up the less trafficked and more scenic “back way” trail (there are 4) up the mountain. It’s a fun, safe beginners hike, and a must-do if you’re in San Diego.
Follow instructor Brian Remas through several environments throughout San Diego County. Adventurers will learn about what they are seeing, such as the plants and animals, but also what they are not seeing, such as the people that called the area home thousands of years ago. Individuals will learn different hiking skills, health facts, “Leave No Trace” methods, and how to enjoy the outdoors in a safe way.
