The Blue Sky Hike, Lake Poway

A beautiful journey through one of San Diego County’s oak tree forests. Hikers will enjoy hearing to the songs of birds, seeing wrestling squirrels, leaping deer, and cottontail rabbits hopping in the distance. After hiking through this environment we’ll turn onto a path that loops around Lake Poway.

The Hike: Difficulty: Moderate; Distance: 6 miles; Time: 3.5 hours

Directions: Exit Interstate 15 at Rancho Bernardo Road and go east. Rancho Bernardo Road becomes Espola Road as you enter the Poway city limits. Espola curves south after about 3 miles. The Blue Sky Ecological Reserve entrance is on the left just after the curve, 3.4 miles from I-15.
