Instructor: Brian Remas
Session 4 Location: San Clemente Canyon

Distance: Easy/Moderate
For this adventure, I'm taking you to one of San Diego's hidden gems, San Clemente Canyon. There you'll see massive sycamores, oaks, swaying willows, climbing vines, and tangled shrubs. You'll hear frogs in the creek, squirrels resting in the leaves, and see deer leaping between the trees. San Clemente Canyon also has one of the largest riparian (water loving) plant areas in San Diego that add to the ecosystem and beauty of this location. There will be two distance options for this hike.
Follow instructor Brian Remas through several environments throughout San Diego County. Adventurers will learn about what they are seeing, such as the plants and animals, but also what they are not seeing, such as the people that called the area home thousands of years ago. Individuals will learn different hiking skills, health facts, “Leave No Trace” methods, and how to enjoy the outdoors in a safe way.
Be sure to bring:
At least 2 liters of WATER
Wear athletic/hiking shoes
Light jacket if cool
Directions:
