A fun and challenging fitness experience that explores our beautiful SD County trails and surrounding areas. This course will introduce safe hiking on terrain that will progress from easy and moderate throughout the semester.

Hikes will typically range from an easy 3-mile trail to a more difficult 8-mile trek.  Adventurers will learn about what they are seeing, such as the plants and animals, but also what they are not seeing, such as the people that called the area home, thousands of years ago. Participants will explore various hiking skills, health facts, “Leave No Trace” methods, and how to enjoy the outdoors in a safe way.

Brian Remas received a BA from California State University, Monterey Bay where he co-founded the university’s recreation department and led many hikes and bike rides. He is also a certified yoga instructor. Brian has been working in several businesses with clients and customers but his passion is leading recreational activities. As a past president and founder of the CSU, Monterey Bay cycling club he continues to organize and lead Outdoor Recreation's activities including hiking, bicycle touring, and water sports. *The start and end time may change.
