Explore the history of one of the world’s most beloved beverages from its origins to modern times. Learn how to taste wine and hone in on what it is you are looking to fill your glass with. The first session will revolve around the question, “What is wine?” and explore a few interesting wines of the world that a far from what you are able to find at the grocery or liquor store.
As well as learning how to properly taste wine, so that you truly get the best experience from each glass. The Second session will feature a comparison of wines from the Old World (Europe) and wines from the New World (United States, South America, Etc.).
This will reveal the characteristic differences of wines and relieve some of the anxiety of buying the wrong bottle. Alexander Rosen grew up in San Diego, and because his mom is a chef, it was only natural that he found himself attending the Culinary Institute of America (CIA).
After returning from studying at the CIA’s Greystone Campus in Napa Valley as well as the Advanced Wine Studies Program at the Hyde Park, NY Campus he found his passion for wine and have now centered his life around it.
He currently works at Kogod Wine Merchant. A local, online-only luxury wine retailer. It is Alex’s goal to share this wonderful world of wine (and food) to everyone he meets in hopes of passing on the spark of the world’s most convivial drink.
